Luis Angel Arango library is the most important complex of its kind in Colombia and one of the most modern in Latin America. The library, open to the public, researchers, etc. is a 44.000 sq. m building with all possible facilities available, including on-line reference, reading rooms, borrowing center, research support, research and processing of specialized information, Internet links and photocopying services are available.

The Luis Lopez de Meza periodicals collection holds Colombian and foreign newspapers, journals, magazines, reference material, and special collections of maps and microfilms. The Concert Hall holds an audience of 370 people, and contains the unusual feature of a concert organ, specially made for the Hall. The concert season, opening in late February, last until early December. There are also smaller auditoriums and exhibition rooms for temporary and permanent shows.

Luis Angel Arango library, services are offered to readers, and the collection of Ricardo Gomez Campuzano, an important Colombian painter, is exhibited. Here, readers have the possibility to become members of the library and come hereto consult. This institution is also in charge of coordinating the 17 libraries belonging to Banco de la Republica, most of them located in departmental capitals and large cities in Colombia. Likewise, here, researchers have access to the book collection donated by Alfonso Palacio Rudas.
