Corferias is considered the most important exhibition hall in the Andean region and the Caribbean, Corferias (Fairs and Exhibitions Corporation) started off with two pavilion buildings. The first event held here was Bogota’s International Fair, which was inaugurated on October 29th, 1954.
At present, this tourist show window holds 27 pavilions in a total exhibiting area of 150,400 sq. mts, hosting twenty events a year, and gathering around seven thousand exhibitors and more than 1,200,000 visitors from different parts of the world.
Besides the exhibition, Corferias houses other academic and information activities related with each event. For this purpose, it has an auditorium, a protocol room, several alternative rooms, a press room and Corferias big hall, holding seven thousand people.
