The Integrated Massive of the West (MIO) is the integrated mass transit system (SITM) of the Colombian city of Santiago de Cali. The system is operated by articulated, standard and complementary buses, which move through trunk, pre-trunk and complementary corridors covering trunk, pre-trunk and feeder routes. It was inaugurated on November 15, 2008 in the test phase. As of March 1, 2009, it began to operate firmly.

The MIO Cable is a cable car transport system, that is, cabs suspended by a cable that run through a line supported by bollards and stop stations. Each cabin will have a capacity to carry eight people. At the moment it works with 60 cabins but in the future the system will move 90. Starting from the Intermediate Cañaveralejo terminal, the route is 2.2 kilometers long, with three other stations located in the Tierra Blanca, Lleras Camargo and Brisas de Mayo sectors.

The department of Valle del Cauca is located in southwestern Colombia. It connects the Pacific region and Colombian south with the country’s heartland. To the west, it borders the department of Choco and the Pacific Ocean. To the north it borders the department of Risaralda. To the east it borders the departments of Tolima and Quindio and to the south the department of Cauca. In urban areas there is also an extensive network of buses, mini-vans and taxis.
