It carries the name of the avenue where vehicles used to transit but today is the boulevard where there is a tunnel located directly below it. This boulevard is about 980 meters long.

The Boulevard of Colombia Avenue, also known as the Bulevar del Río because it is located on the banks of the Cali River, is a boulevard located in the historic center of the city of Santiago de Cali, Colombia. It bears the name of the avenue that once passed in the place where today is the boulevard and which continues to operate through a tunnel located directly below it, this being the largest urban tunnel in the country.
