If you find yourself in Cartagena, chances are that you’ll come across posters advertising the Totumo Mud Volcano. It’s sort of a rite of passage in Cartagena
The only thing visitors to want to do in Galerazamba, 25 miles away from Cartagena, is mud-bathe in The Totumo Volcano. Visitors climb about 65 feet up a wooden staircase leading to the mouth of the Totumo Volcano. There, they descend into the crater and come into contact with a dense, grey fluid in a space with room for about 10 people.
