San Felipe de Barajas Castle is one of Cartagena’s most iconic landmarks; a place visited by almost all tourists who travel to the city. It also has a remarkable history, stretching back over 480 years.

St. Philip Of Barajas Castle (Castillo de San felipe de Barajas), This military-style structure, the largest of its time, consist of a square and complex of six batteries located on different levels, which are connected together through a series of underground tunnels in 1656 the construction of the castle began, which sought to protect the city from attacks by sea and land.
