The Gate and Clock Tower (“la Puerta y la Torre del Reloj”) can be seen at the main entrance of the walled city.

As the main entrance to the walled city, The Torre del Reloj (Clock Tower) is considered one of the premier architectural symbols of Cartagena. Since it was built in 1888 it has undergone significant work involving restorations and modifications to its design and style. It also changed its name, taking as inspiration the Swiss-made clock that was added to the tower 1937. It is one of the treasures of La Heroica (“The Heroic”) as the city is fondly known.
Address: Plaza de los Coches
