This sanctuary (Temple of St. Clare) was home to the first nunnery in Colombia, it has a single nave and beautiful large oil paintings, It houses a Corpus Christi (Body of Christ) altar and next to the choir stalls is a small cell where mother Francisca Josefa de la Concepción del Castillo y Guevara, a prominent religious poet and philosopher and author of the literary works ‘Mi vida’ (‘My Life’) and ‘Afectos Espirituales’ (‘Spiritual Affections’) resided, The richness of the ornaments and decorations make it similar in style to the Templo de Santo Domingo (St. Dominic Temple), especially its high altar.
