The Hermitage of San Laureano (Spanish: Ermita de San Laureano) is the first church built in Tunja by order of the Cabildo in 1566, at that time it was in the periphery of the city, on the way to Santa Fe (Bogotá). Towards 1816 was the place where were buried the personages of the Independence that were shot in the Wall of the Martyrs. To highlight, there is an oil of the Virgin of Chiquinquirá dating from the late seventeenth century, the altar in gold and a canvas of San Francisco Javier painted in 1628 by Alonso Fernández de Heredia, the workshop Santafereño Gaspar de Figueroa. The oil of San Bartolomé, of tenebrista style dates from 1623.
