Bogota – La Calera – Sopo – Briceno Jaime Duque Park – La Caro – Bogota Travel Guide
The journey is initiated the same way as the previous one, but 16 km ahead of La Calera, you turn left on an intersection of the road that leads to Guatavita, from where you travel 10 km and you reach Sopo (2580 m.s.n.m., i4°C), milk producing municipality, the center of milk products which, with the different delicacies which are produced, delight the visitors.
The municipality is a place of celebrations held near a shrine, since in 1753 a Christ appeared on a rock. At present, this rock is inlayed in a silver cross on the side where it was found, in the place known as Sanctuary of our Lord of the Rock. The places of special attraction are the Divine Child Savior church and the colonial church of the XVIII century where a complete pictorial collection of angels can be admired.
Note: for those persons who do not have their own vehicle and have their family outings strictly budgeted, it is very easy to get to Sopo, just as it is easy to get to other nearby places, by taking the Transmilenio until you reach the North Portico and from there, taking a small bus.
which goes right to your destination for a moderate price. The return trip is made in the same way. You can make a stop in this pleasant excursion at the Jaime Duque Park-near Briceno-to later take the return route to Bogota.
