La Calera (2700 m.s.n.m): Parting from the junction of Calle 84, towards the east of Bogota and only 15 km away, one reaches this municipality. The journey turns out to be very entertaining, since splendid whole panoramic views, both of Bogota and of the savannah that surrounds it, can be seen from several watchtowers found in the highway that leads to this place. Throughout this journey and until you reach the town itself, there are both sophisticated restaurants and simple dining rooms, bars, night spots and roadhouse inns.
The attractions of this location are the Moya caves, a strange rocky formation and native cemetery; the Laguna Brava (Fierce Lagoon), the interior chapel ofthe Government House, the natural bridge made of rock and the parish temple which preserves some of the work ofthe colonial master, Gregorio Vasquez de Arce y Cevallos.
