Clock Tower in Cúcuta. This building, declared a National Monument in 1982, has several attractions for tourists, including the bell of the clock which announces noon with the chords of the National Anthem. Built at the beginning of the twentieth century, it is currently home to the regional Department of Culture and is one of the most important buildings in Cucuta from an architectural standpoint.
The figure of the Clock Tower is an icon of Cúcuta. This site, which is the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Norte de Santander, is home to cultural expressions as plays and houses a museum of modern art in which temporary exhibitions are held. The silhouette of the tower stands out especially at Christmas, when it is illuminated.
