This park was named by a more important personage of the political life of Buenaventura. Outstanding politician and radio journalist, his formation was self-taught until his political rivals appreciated it. He was born on January 10, 1914 in Noanamito, a corregimiento of Lopez de Micay (Cauca), but at the age of two his parents Feliciano and Eustaquia brought him to the port of Buenaventura, being the third of seven brothers (Lidubina, Adelmo, Enrique, Narcilo, Socorro and Guillermina). He has important achievements in Buenaventura for his work in the City Council and the Departmental Assembly of Valle del Cauca, bodies of which he was President on several occasions, as well as his work in support of Buenaventura from the Congress of the Republic . One of his most valuable works was the construction of the High School Pascual de Andagoya, started with his first performance as Deputy to the Departmental Assembly of 1943; Undoubtedly one of the most important men that Buenaventura has had, where he built his residential base during 68 of his 70 years of existence: he died in Cali, on December 5, 1984. He managed to be always a man of much Culture that had nothing to envy to the “professionals” of his time, with whom he alternated in several public positions.
