The strength and resilience of the settlers that first inhabited Manizales were the main characteristics that inspired the sculpture of master artist Luis Guillermo Vallejo Arias. In a tribute to its founders he created this work of art using materials donated by the inhabitants of the city. The monument is located in the barrio Cipres (Cyprus neighborhood) a beautiful area that also offers visitors a stunning 360° view across the mountains of the region.
