Citizens of the following countries are not required to be in possession of a visa:

Please note that travelers in transit through the country will require a temporary visa. This applies for citizens of the 107 countries for which Colombia requires a tourist visa.

TOURIST VISA

This visa must be applied for the first time in a Colombian Consulate. It may be issued up to the maximum term of one hundred eighty (180) calendar days within the same year and allows the holder multiple entries. It grants foreigners temporary entry to Colombia for pleasure travel.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Submit the completed DP-FO-67 Visa Application Form. This must be signed by the foreign applicant themselves and not by a third person.
• Valid passport or travel document in good condition, with at least two (2) blank pages.
• Three (3) identical recent photographs, taken from the front in color, with a white background, size 3 x 3 cm.
• Copy of the data page of the passport as well as the page that contains the previous Colombian visa if applicable and the last Colombian entry or exit stamp, as appropriate.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

• Documents proving sufficient economic resources to stay in the country as a tourist.
• In the case of being invited, a letter and document proving the financial solvency of the person making the invitation or taking responsibility for the foreigner during their stay and departure from Colombia.
• Photocopy or electronic information of the respective tickets to depart the country.

Documents issued abroad must be apostilled or legalized at a Colombian Consul, as appropriate. Any document not in Castilian Spanish must be officially translated with the translator’s signature apostilled ni legalized. Place of issue: Colombian Consulates abroad. To pay you should previously have made the request at a visa Issuing offices. The payment must be made at the offices of the Consulate or the banks designated for this purpose.

ENTRY OF MONEY AND GOODS

The process to issue visas at Consulates takes 3 to 7 business days.

• All visitors must present a valid passport on arrival in Colombia.
• No visa is required for a maximum of 90 days for citizens of most Western European countries, including the UK and Ireland, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
• It may be necessary to show a return ticket.

BAGGAGE

• Accompanied baggage: is luggage with the traveler at the time of their entry to the country. This consists of personal effects and /or allowed items.
• Unaccompanied baggage: is luggage that arrives either before or after the traveler arrives in the country and must be delivered in their name. If part of the baggage has already arrived or will arrive by cargo, it must be declared on the Formulario de Declaración de Equipaje y Dinero (Baggage and Money Declaration Form) and the Customs Officer informed before you leave the customs area.

DECLARATION OF BAGGAGE AND PAYMENT OF TAX

The baggage must arrive in Colombian Customs Territory between one month before and four months after the arrival of its owner. To pay the tax, you must go through the Circuito de Declarantes (Red Customs Channel) for revision of the baggage and take with you: receipts for the goods, passport and ticket stub, You can pay the tax using Colombian or any other freely convertible currency. Failure to declare any goods subject to tax to Customs will result in their confiscation.

Travelers entering or leaving Colombian territory must complete Form 530 Declaración de Equipajes y Títulos Representativos en Dinero (Baggage and Securities Declaration) required by the Direction de Impuestos y Aduanas Nacionales – DIAN (Tax and Customs).
