Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino (San Pedro Alejandrino Hacienda) was founded on February 2, 1608. by Canon Francisco de Godoy y Cortosia, and given the name of ‘La Florida de San pedro Alejandrino(Saint Peter of Alexandria Hacienda)‘. Even today it still retains the architectural and landscape features of its inception. Historical items of the era are safeguarded here, as well as part of the furniture from colonial times and objects belonging to the Mier family. The Quinta brings together different areas of interest such as the main room where the liberator Simon Bolivar died in 1830, The Museo Bolivariano de Arte Contemporáneo (Bolivarian Museum of Contemporary Art), wich has a collection of about 200 works of art, the Altar de la Patria (Altar to the nation), built in 1930 to commemorate the centenary of the death of Simón Bolívar and the Plaza de las banderas (Flag Square), where the flags of all the nations of the Americas are flown.
