What To See and do in Medellin

In two days Medellin: as well as being recognized as the city of “eternal spring”, Medellin is also a city with a strong Catholic tradition, so be sure to visit the Catedral Metropolitans de Medellin (Metropolitan Cathedral of Medellin), La Basilica de La Candelaria and the Temple de La Veracruz (Temple of Veracruz). You can also do a complete tour of the Parque Explora (Exploration Park) where you’ll find interactive displays and an aquarium, a favorite among visitors. Finally, visit the Jardin Botanico (Botanical Garden), resplendent with natural scenery including a palm garden, desert garden and orchid garden.

In a week in Medellin: ideally travel around the Valle de Aburra (Aburra Valley) and local areas such as Itagüí, where you can visit the Centro de la Moda (Fashion Centre) and go shopping; Barbosa, wh£re a visit to the Parque Metropolitano de las Aguas (Metropolitan Water Park) is a must; and Girardota, noted for its leather goods. You can also enjoy an encounter with nature in the Parque Arvi (Arvi Park), located in the village of Piedras Blancas, or travel to the neighboring districts of El Peñol and Guatape, home to the Peñon de Guatape (Rock of Guatape), a giant rock which is one of the main tourist attractions in Antioquia and surrounded by the reservoir of El Peñol, one of the largest in Colombia.
