Santo Domingo Square is the hub of nightlife in the walled city. There are many bars, antique shops, jewelry stores, cafes, and restaurants here.

Restaurants, cafes and outdoor bars are on offer in the Plaza de Santo Domingo (St. Dominic Square), a square where music is accompanied by an atmosphere of tranquility and fun. In this important square you can admire the statue of “Gertrudis” (Gertrude), a sculpture by the Colombia master Fernando Botero and also the Iglesia Santo Domingo (St. Dominic Church), one of the oldest buildings in Cartagena, which stands out due to its Baroque style which is reflected in its high altar. The Church offers an audio guide system to accompany visitors on the tour.
