Magical Salitre Theme Park is an “Alternative” park. It was originally opened under the simple name “Salitre” in 1973, and was in its time one of the largest in the hemisphere, built on the grounds of a ranch whose owner left his land to the city for recreational purposes. The Park was closed for remodeling in 1998, and at the end of 2000 it was reopened with the sponsorship of Mexico’s Mundo Magico Internacional in association with Colombia’s Reforestacion y Parques.

Under the new name Salitre Magico, this classical and traditional park is now a recreation complex which offers more magic than ever to visitors, who can find anything they ever thought of in mechanical attractions, water facilities, all in one place.

There are 24 electrical diversions around the park for young and old alike. They release the spirit of adventure and let you experience extreme vertigo for a few seconds, with the corkscrew roller coaster with 2 trains for 24 people, half a kilometer of track, two complete circuits on its own rails and a free fall of 60ft. The millennium wheel is another novelty, with 40 gondolas each holding 4 peo pie, 175 ft above the ground at its highest point.
