Santa Marta was founded on July 29, 1525 by the Spanish conqueror Rodrigo de Bastidas, it is the oldest city in Colombia and the second oldest in South America. Possessing charming scenery where beaches and mountains meet, it is also home to a wealth of culture and history and excellent tourist infrastructure. Thanks to its diversity, iconic buildings and natural abundance, the city is one of the most visited destinations in the Caribbean.
